This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working close to the metal—whether that’s in runtime systems, libraries, or performance-critical components—but who also bring a generalist mindset and are open to contributing across the stack. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions that power key platform capabilities.

By applying to this U.S. based position, while remote work is possible, relocation may not be provided for the role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of professional experience coding in C++
  • 2+ years of distributed systems OR multithreaded development experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4+ years of professional experience with coding in C++
  • 4+ years of distributed systems OR multithreaded development experience
  • Experience with systems programming concepts such as threading, synchronization, or memory allocation.
  • Familiarity with modern C++ standards (C++11 and beyond).
  • Exposure to additional languages such as C#, Python, or Rust.
  • Experience working in large codebases and with version control systems like Git.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.
