The Azure Host and Innovation Team builds the foundation for our next generation Cloud offerings. We are on the forefront of modern hosting and are accountable for the platform that supports our industry-leading AI Infrastructure. The Next Generation Host and Infrastructure Program Management Team is responsible for the design, strategy, and execution of our vision to deliver the core platform for Microsoft Azure: The World’s AI Supercomputer.
We have resources, industry connections, and proven global leadership that helps us to continue delivery of exponential platform innovations. We focus on building platform experiences that power Azure datacenters to run Compute Infrastructure supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Cloud Services, etc. You will have an opportunity to become a part of a strategic and innovative team, with Microsoft-wide impact, while helping us take on competitors such as Amazon and Google.
We are hiring an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager to drive the Next Generation Host for Microsoft Azure. This role will emphasize efficiency, performance, and innovative design and will collaborate with numerous peers across our engineering Program Management and Development Teams across the business. This role will require you to collaborate extensively on our Azure Core Operating System, align strategic delivery with our Hardware Innovation Team, and many other internal partners to achieve performance targets that do not yet exist within the industry today.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 2+ years of experience in driving and delivering projects from inception to completion.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis,
- OR product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- You will be part of inclusive and diverse world-class PM team to deliver new and improve existing Azure services.
- Partner with Software and Hardware Engineering to design complex technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also give key stakeholders data-driven recommendations based on identified risks.
- You’ll define success criteria and create relationships for implementing multiple feature areas for highly complex cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across the business.
- Deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups across divisions, track project schedules, drive development of staging and implementation plans, and lead governance programs.
- Drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch. You’ll also provide expertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, lead customer support, and define and lead direct customer engagements.
- Create clarity, generate energy, and define what it means to deliver success for our customers, engineering teams, and the business.
