We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Global Industry Compete to focus on Cross-Industry Market Compete, you will lead the development and execution of strategies focused on competitive analysis, landscape review, and generate insights to accelerate company growth through industry. This role emphasizes deep knowledge and experience in market dynamics, impactful data-driven strategies, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture dedicated to innovation and empowering diverse industries.

You will be responsible for supporting rapid data and feedback loops for decision-making, incorporating an ever-evolving competitive landscape and a fast-moving product portfolio to understand Microsoft’s strengths and weaknesses across Industries. You will lead our compete insights with an always-on compete motion and manage discrete research projects for Global Industry Marketing.

Job Location: The primary location for this position is Redmond, WA. Additionally, there are three other locations where this role may be based. Candidates who do not reside in one of these four areas will be relocated to Redmond.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in communications or product management
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in communications or product management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the cloud and/or AI industry.
  • 5+ years of experience driving market compete and market landscape analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in industry or B2B (business-to-business) customer insights and/or analyst relations.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in communications or product management
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in communications or product management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering clear, compelling data and insights that help achieve business results.
  • Foundational marketing knowledge of understanding customer needs and market trends, and our competitive positioning and value proposition that informs our go-to-market strategy.
  • Ability to synthesize complex inputs and transform them into simple, clear, and succinct communication.
  • Familiar with IaaS (infrastructure as a service)/PaaS (platform as a service)/SaaS (software as a service) technology and Microsoft’s industry-specific products and solutions.

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Help drive a team culture that leans into data and insights while empowering leaders to make strategic decisions.
  • Lead the team’s compete capability, creating an always-on compete insights motion.
  • Work cross-functionally with Global Sales & Strategy stakeholders to elevate leaders’ visibility into how and why deals are won and lost.
  • Work in partnership across marketing, engineering, and sales to lead discrete research projects.
  • Collaborate with industry analysts to identify emerging trends and develop comprehensive reports.
  • Provide insights for cross-team workstreams like fiscal year planning and quarterly business reviews.
  • Embrace AI solutions in your work to develop product knowledge and achieve outsized results.
