Overview

We are looking to hire a Business Program Manager with a focus on operations and scheduling to join the Commercial Skilling Team within Worldwide Learning (WWL). Technical skills training is the key to driving customer and partner success and Microsoft’s growth with Cloud & AI Platforms, Security, and AI Business Solutions. As part of our team, you will partner with our Scheduling Program Manager shape and execute the global strategy for first-party training deliveries by orchestrating the Enterprise Skills Initiative (ESI) catalog of customer and partner training.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a role focusing on business operations.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR equivalent experience.
Technical Solution Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management & Reporting:
  • Perform data extraction, analysis, and visualization for Open Enrollment (OE) and Private Delivery (PD) schedule health, including learner registration rates, attendance trends, delivery and catalog performance, and more.
  • Perform monthly regional capacity monitoring for PD and OE.
  • Execute ad-hoc data extractions and analysis as needed to support decision-making or respond to inquiries about scheduling trends and performance.
  • Schedule Health Reporting:
  • Create and maintain Monthly Schedule Health presentation decks utilized to report on scheduling performance and health.
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in data visualization, highlighting trends, successes, and areas needing attention. Share insights on what’s working and where interventions are required to improve schedule efficiency or learner attendance.
  • Open Enrollment Scheduling Support:
  • Maintain the scheduling workback plan, a timeline of tasks and deadlines leading up to each monthly open enrollment schedule release. Ensure all preparatory steps are on track and coordinate across the team to meet key milestones.
  • Drive the weekly technical trainer whitespace review process and draft recommendations for in-flight schedule adjustments.
  • New Schedule Creation:
  • Assist in developing new monthly training schedules alongside the Scheduling Lead. This involves creating an initial draft schedule for upcoming months, aligned with strategic priorities, capacity, and data driven performance insights.
  • Post-Publication Schedule Optimization:
  • After a new schedule is published, support the Scheduling Lead in fine-tuning it through post-ops reviews:
  • Conduct Delivery Assignment Audits to ensure sessions are spaced and allocated in a way that maximizes resource use and minimizes conflicts.
  • Identify any persistent gaps or risk areas—such as courses with low enrollment that might need extra marketing, or oversubscribed courses that could use additional sessions. Flag these for the team and assist in executing mitigation plans, like merging low-enrollment classes or scheduling extra sessions for high demand.
  • Execute a late-stage monitoring routine during the final weeks leading up to training delivery for cancellations/reschedules, trainer optimization, and waitlist management.
  • General Scheduling Support & Communication:
  • Serve as a first line of support for scheduling-related queries from Scheduling Operations, Microsoft Technical Trainers, Program Managers, or field teams regarding schedule details, changes, or issues. Provide professional, clear, and solution-oriented communications.
  • Ensure that trainer allocation and scheduling decisions remain within budgetary constraints and that any risks of overspending are flagged early.
