Overview

The Copilot Platform team is at the forefront of Microsoft’s AI transformation, powering the foundational engine behind Microsoft 365 Copilot and enabling the next generation of intelligent productivity experiences. As a Principal Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic surface for industry leading, AI-first experiences in the enterprise.

This role is ideal for a product professional who is interested in building systems that scale across Microsoft’s ecosystem. You will own key areas of the platform and drive product definition, roadmap execution, and cross-functional alignment to deliver high-impact capabilities such as multi-turn orchestration, grounding, memory, and extensibility.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, representing your area in cross-team forums and simplifying issues for leadership and stakeholders. Responsibilities
  • You will influence others to drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas across divisions. You’ll also be responsible for identifying long-term investment opportunities and engaging partners to garner support for those feature areas.
  • You will define a feature set and facilitate senior-level reviews with customers. You’ll own the roadmap for multiple feature areas across divisions and will collaborate with a partner team to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs.
  • You will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for technical needs in order to improve product development in multiple areas. You’ll also identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build relationships with targeted customers across sectors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 6+ years experience changing a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).


Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
