Director, FP&A
Moda Operandi
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis plays a strategic role, across the Moda Operandi business. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the FP&A Director works closely, and independently, with all department leaders, performing hands-on operational activities, such as: partnering on day-to-day accounting matters, financial modeling, forecasting, project/product profitability analysis, and payment terms.
We are looking for a hands-on financial management professional, comfortable playing a lead role in the management reporting and analysis of the organization.
Key Deliverables:
- Provide value by analyzing financial data, developing financial forecasts and models, and providing proactive insight into the organization
- Gather and analyze financial data from multiple sources to create financial models, reports, and presentations
- Develop, build, and maintain a cadence of management and Board reporting on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis
Primary Responsibilities, include:
- Prepare a monthly reporting package that includes full financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial performance of the organization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement in financial performance and make recommendations to management for corrective action
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and provide support to other teams within the organization as needed
- Advise the management team on opportunities and issues in the business through rigorous and thoughtful financial analysis and planning
- Work with Managers to help them understand, develop, and monitor the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts, which shall include establishing budget tools, setting timelines, and acting as project manager ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on time
- Prepare and monitor the company’s long range strategic planning models
- In partnership with the People function, maintain and calculate all variable compensation payouts
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed
- Enable fiscally responsible decision making company-wide

Qualifications/Ideal Experience:
- Past experience driving business insights and continuous improvement
- Enjoys all things quantitative, and always brings a data-driven mindset to the table
- 7+ years of progressive financial analysis experience and demonstrated professional growth, including 5+ years directly in Finance/FP&A
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel modeling a must
- High degree of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail while delivering against tight deadlines
- Highest levels of ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility, and character
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong track record of building and maintaining strong relationships, and communicating with a wide range of partners
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects and tasks
- Ability to influence the decisions of a company from a credible financial standpoint
- Strong financial planning and ability to accurately communicate revenue, growth, etc
- Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g Looker/Tableau) and FP&A platforms (e.g Netsuite)

Job Type: Full-time; Hybrid role; NYC based (Brooklyn office space)
Salary: $130,000 - $180,000 per year + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
