Merchandising Assistant
Moda Operandi
We are seeking a Merchandise Assistant (MA) to join our RTW / Apparel team.
The Merchandising Assistant will support the buying team, collaborating with internal cross-functional partners and external brand vendors to drive sales for the Trunk Show and Boutique businesses. The successful candidate will be highly organized and systems savvy, with a love for luxury fashion.
Primary Responsibilities, include:
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of purchase orders and reorders
- Maintain item updates and adjustments through full life cycle
- Provide administrative support to the buying division as needed
- Support the designated buying team across all business channels including Trunkshow, Boutique and Marketplace/dropship (Mirakl)
- Manage the trunkshow launch process and calendar
- Analyze and learn about Moda Operandi's vendors and department performance
- assist with pulling vendor sales history for Market Prep
- attend weekly team meetings
- Support the team in the vendor onboarding process and setup in Moda’s internal CMS system
- Assist with informational decks and other special projects, as needed
- Assist with product setup and asset management including product page imagery, copy templates, and editorial content
- Monitor and update weekly uploads for product errors
- Manage and update product pricing, country of origin, and material composition as needed
- Support Assistant Buyer/s on the launch checklists and calendars
- Maintain the vendor database, contact list, and related department records.
- Drive continuous process improvement by identifying and resolving challenges and opportunities in photography planning, both internally and with external partners.

Qualifications/Ideal Experience:
- You have a bachelor’s degree preferably in fashion or merchandising
- Detailed oriented, organized, and able to multi-task
- Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced analytical skills and reasoning ability
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skill is required
- Aptitude for learning new programs/systems
- Able to work well within a team and build strong relationships with all cross-functional partners
- Flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing, fast-paced, and high-growth environment
- Willing to execute priorities with a sense of urgency and can-do attitude
- Positive, composed, and calm under tight deadlines
Job Type: Full-time; hybrid role; NYC based (Industry City Brooklyn office space)
Salary: $23 - $27 per hour + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
