Role Overview: As a Senior Data Software Engineer, you will be part of the Data squad to create tech-forward, AI-driven solutions that help HR teams and their employees navigate the complex world of benefits and healthcare. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment to create robust and scalable data pipelines and interfaces to power Nava’s service offerings.
🧠 Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and be able to lead complex data integration and automation projects with designs and are scalable and robust with a focus on simplicity and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Business Operations, weighing trade-offs between near and long term solutions.
- Support engineering through leadership, mentorship and leading by example – setting high standards for personal and team’s code quality, test coverage and performance.
- Drive innovation through seeking out opportunities through technology to improve efficiency throughout the company.
🖊️ Preferred Experience:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
- Proficiency in delivering end-to-end functionality with data-driven feedback loops.
- Highly proficient with designing and implementing data processing systems, databases and data pipelines with cloud infrastructure and cloud platforms.
- Strong background experience with data integration via SFTP, EDI, and datafiles exchanges (e.g. CSV, XLS).
- Expertise in ETL/ELT, data mapping, data table modeling and database performance & scaling.
- Proficiency in data automation and orchestration of data pipelines.
- Highly proficient with data manipulation language, e.g., SQL and RDBMS (Postgres).
- Proficiency in scripting for automating tasks and manipulating text.
- Working experience with modern web applications development and REST API.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong plus: experience using AI tools and techniques in data engineering
