Newlab is seeking a Venture Operations Lead to support scaling and operationalizing the Ventures capability and portfolio across the Newlab platform and locations.

Newlab is hiring a linchpin operational role for our lean, global Ventures team. This role will own investment operations, portfolio management, and investor relations across Newlab's growing locations and programs. The ideal candidate has proven experience in investment management, collaborating with executive-level teams, strategic communication, and executing at other-worldly pace & precision. The role will support external engagement with startup founders, an expanding LP network and Newlab’s geographic partners for reporting, systems management, deal execution and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in bringing structure to ambiguous situations, can operate autonomously when required, and strives to be a high-integrity, high performing teammate.

Role Objectives

• Enable Newlab to build and scale investment systems across teams & locations
• Drive execution efficiency of investment pipeline, deal closing, reporting and portfolio management
• Elevate Newlab’s LP relations and portfolio communications
• Accelerate critical strategic objectives for the expansion of Newlab’s investment capability
  
  

Responsibilities

• Own the investment operations and execution efficiency of Newlab’s global venture capability
• Oversee the integration of Newlab investments with Newlab financial functions including auditing / compliance requirements
• Manage the progress of companies throughout the investment pipeline including document management, deal execution and integration with teams across the Newlab platform
• Manage cadence of meetings, communication channels, and shared tools between Global and local Ventures teams
• Manage network of Newlab LPs and SPV investors including deal and portfolio communications
• Support day-to-day logistics for the leadership team, including scheduling, tracking communications, and managing external engagements
• Assist with the preparation and dissemination of communications, meeting briefs and agendas
• Own the portfolio data management, insights and reporting
• Defining and tracking performance for Ventures capabilities within Newlab organizational goals and business reviews
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• The ability to interact and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders with exceptional judgment and discretion
• Undergraduate degree from a qualified, four-year university
• 3+ years in a investment, consulting, or executive management role
• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
• Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
• Experience in financial and investment data management & reporting
• Demonstrated high-integrity, high-performing teammate
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration or similar field
• Consulting experience with a focus on operations management
• Experience in venture operations and supporting early-stage founders
• Experience with budget management
  
  

Compensation & Benefits

• We expect this role's base salary to be $125,000 - $160,000 commensurate with a candidate's experience.
