About the Role
We’re growing our internal team and looking for an Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-trust environment and wants to help shape how we manage and improve our management company accounting practices.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial operations across the management company, partnering closely with our internal finance team, external accounting and HR providers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to maintain and improve our internal financial systems and processes.
What You'll Do
Own and improve the invoicing process across the management company - tracking, monitoring, improving visibility, and ensuring timely payments across hundreds of monthly invoices
Maintain and reconcile the monthly, quarterly, and annual management company budget, tracking against actuals and providing functional leaders with budget vs. spend reporting
Own Ramp transaction review - ensure all charges are coded correctly and aligned to the correct budgets
Serve as the main day-to-day point of contact for our external accounting partner, including reviewing monthly data and flagging any discrepancies
Partner with internal stakeholders to improve understanding of budgets, and build processes to increase financial visibility across the team
Manage payroll processes in partnership with our external HR provider
Support compliance, including annual filings, compensation statements, offboarding logistics, and benefits-related needs in collaboration with our Operations Manager
Continuously improve and document accounting processes and controls
Handle ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed by the Assistant Controller and CFO
About You
2-4 years of accounting experience in a startup, VC/PE, or other investment firm environment focused on management company accounting
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; familiarity with accounting tools like Quickbooks, Ramp, and bill.com is a plus
An extreme attention to detail, organization, and responsiveness
Proven history of building simple, scalable systems to increase operational efficiency
Ability to operate with discretion and professionalism when handling confidential data
You must be able to work out of the Primary office in NYC 3 days/week.
