Slingshot AI
Slingshot AI is the team behind Ash, the first AI designed for mental health. Our mission is to make support more accessible and help people change their lives in the ways they want.
We’re building a world-class team by empowering individuals with the autonomy, flexibility, and support they need to do their best work. We dream big, iterate fast, and care deeply. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Our team spans machine learning, product, engineering, conversational design, clinical, growth, and operations, with offices in both New York City and London.
We're a well-funded Series A company, having raised $93M from Andreessen Horowitz, Radical Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, plus top-tier tech investors involved in ElevenLabs, Captions, Shopify, Plaid, Notion, Canva, Twitch, Airtable, and many others.
The role
We're seeking an Executive Assistant to support our Co-Founder, Neil Parikh.
Neil is calm, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative, but make no mistake, the company moves quickly and conversations often move even faster. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term partnership with Neil; Aligning his time with company priorities, joining him in critical meetings, managing his communications and travel, and ultimately acting as his second brain to maximize his value to the company. Neil was previously co-founder of Casper, the sleep company, which he scaled through IPO.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to be in the room where it happens (as it happens), and to work in a fast-paced, highly technical, and deeply mission-driven company. Slingshot is intentionally keeping the team small and well-funded, which means this role sits close to the center of how the company operates.
You'll be responsible for ensuring things get done and keeping an eye out for anything that could fall through the cracks. We don't operate in a culture of asking for permission; people step in, take ownership, and solve problems. The person in this role needs to be comfortable thinking on their feet, communicating clearly in real time, and keeping pace with a highly technical team.
The best Executive Assistants want leverage, proximity to decisions, and meaningful impact. This role provides all three. If you enjoy building systems, experimenting with new tooling, and making founders dramatically more effective, you’ll feel right at home.
About you:
High agency: You don't wait for permission. If something needs to get done, you move. You build trust through follow-through, and when you take ownership of something, it gets done.
Get things done: You don't wait for the perfect system before acting. You use tools to move fast yourself; and once something is working, you figure out how to never do it manually again. You're meticulous, organized, and obsessed with follow-through.
Moves with urgency: Speed matters. You know how to prioritize and take action quickly without sacrificing quality. High-stakes moments don't rattle you; you stay organized, grounded, and focused even when the pace increases.
Highly communicative: You believe that many issues and challenges do not even arise if you communicate well. You can't remember ever being accused of talking too little.
Tech is fun: You learn new tools fast, love finding the latest tech, and make it easy for others to use. We're building an AI company, and you should enjoy exploring tools, automation, and new workflows. Think of this role as a playground for AI-augmented executive support.
Comfortable with chaos: You don't need to fix everything to feel okay. We have a team of smart, ambitious, curious people and our approach to building often feels like a whirlwind, but it works for us. You're engergized by that environment, not unsettled by it.
You genuinely love being an EA: The strongest candidates are people who see this as a long-term craft and want to build a real partnership, not a stepping stone into another career.
Key responsibilities:
Direct support for Neil: Own his inbox, calendar, travel, and mental load so he can stay focused on the highest-leverage work. You're the reason things don't fall through the cracks — not by building processes for others, but by taking personal ownership of outcomes.
Calendar and priority management: Own Neil's calendar end-to-end. Prioritize his time based on company priorities and ensure he's always spending time where it matters most.
Communication management: Draft, edit, and oversee correspondence on behalf of Neil, ensuring clear, professional, and timely communication. Manage and triage incoming messages, coordinate follow-ups, and ensure important threads never stall.
Meeting support: Ensure meetings are set up for success, with accurate logistics, context, and preparation so time is used effectively. Join key meetings, capture decisions and action items, and act as a memory layer across conversations and commitments.
Strategic follow-through: Track priorities across the company and ensure commitments actually happen. This includes coordinating with team members, reminding stakeholders, and closing loops.
Travel and logistics: Plan and coordinate complex travel itineraries, accommodations, and meeting agendas so Neil can stay focused on building.
Office and culture: Help ensure that everyone who works in or visits our NYC office feels genuinely welcomed and looked after.
This is the right opportunity for you if...
You see this as the job, not a stepping stone. You want to build a real long-term partnership with a founder and you're energised by proximity to decisions, not just the tasks that come with it.
You have around 7+ years of EA experience, including time supporting a founder at a seed-to-Series C startup, and you've thrived in that environment rather than just survived it.
You enjoy being present in key conversations, decisions, and company moments and get energy from providing leverage to increase the effectiveness of a founder.
You are NOT looking for a passive administrative role, a stepping-stone position, high and frequent direction, or a structured, predictable environment.
You’re comfortable defaulting to in-office work 5 days a week and traveling to offsites, board meetings, or other events as-needed (roughly once a quarter)
We care more about judgement, ownership, and mindset than a perfectly linear background.
What we offer:
A chance to join a passionate tight-knit team working on something to change the world
Competitive compensation (top of personal market)
Travel between our NYC / London offices
Usual startup perks like free lunch and coffee in office + generous learning budget
