What You'll Do

• Collaborate with partner teams in AWS and GCP Networking on our Multi-Cloud Transit Network, playing a crucial role in designing and developing automation and large-scale services to guide our network towards increased autonomy. This will include responsibility for components from design through to deployment and operations.
• Design, document, and help to implement the next iteration of our network, incorporating advanced features like IPv6 and Direct Connectivity.
• Contribute to the redesign of our Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) to include more regional failure domains instead of global, enhancing the resilience and reliability of our network infrastructure.
• Write and review code to automate problems within our squad’s domain, and ensure all systems are meticulously documented.
• Conduct periodic disaster recovery exercises, simulating events like regional network outages, to ensure system readiness and resilience.
• Take on complex system challenges, applying a measured and methodical approach to problem solving.
• Accept operational responsibility for the services owned by our team, including participating in an on-call rotation.
• Work as part of a geo-distributed team, with the majority of colleagues located in New York.

Who You Are

• Robust experience in the design, administration, operation, and troubleshooting of highly scalable and resilient cloud network architectures on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Instrumental in implementing advanced network features like IPv6, Direct Connectivity, and SDN technologies.
• Actively participated in re-architecting Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) to shift from global to more regional failure domains, enhancing network resilience and performance.
• Understands the challenges and solutions in crafting geo-distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
• Possesses extensive knowledge of network protocols such as BGP, IPSec, and OSPF, using them within various cloud technologies like CloudWAN, SharedVPC, and Transit Gateways.
• Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Extensive usage of AWS and GCP services, such as IAM, VPCs, EC2, Kubernetes, and comfortable navigating the complexities of cloud security and compliance.
• A champion of standardization and automation, always seeking ways to streamline systems, improve the developer experience, and enhance system reliability and performance through relentless automation of operational tasks.
