About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Business Development Representative to play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing our partnership sales pipeline.The Business Development Representative is a key member of the Innovation team that grows the company through partnership projects leveraging our Indoor Farming Platform and capabilities.

The ideal person will have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience and will be responsible for keeping the pipeline full and ready for action, ensuring that we stay on track toward closing deals. This role demands a proactive communicator who is driven to achieve goals, excels in organization and time management, and thrives in a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Pipeline Management: Oversee and manage the pipeline of prospects, understanding their profiles and ensuring alignment with our business objectives.

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis to generate and sustain a steady flow of leads and provide actionable insights to support the team in progressing meaningful business development conversations.

  • Outreach Coordination: Coordinate lead outreach efforts, managing communication within the pipeline to advance deals toward key milestones. While not primarily responsible for sending messages, you will organize and facilitate effective communication strategies.

  • Support Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert in one of the following areas—presentations, data models, or research—while maintaining competence in the other two areas to support outreach efforts effectively.

You have experience with:

  • Experience in a remote work environment is preferred, with the ability to manage travel requirements (10-20%) effectively.

  • 1-2 years of client-facing experience preferred, with a professional and personable approach.

  • Experience with setting up and managing workflows, such as preparing presentations and meeting agendas.

  • Expertise in one of the following areas, with at least basic competency in the others:

Presentations: Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations.

Spreadsheets: Proficiency in managing and analyzing data using spreadsheets.

Research: Skill in conducting thorough research and synthesizing information.

  • Highly Organized: Expertly manage and maintain the sales pipeline, aligning with our goals for categories and accounts.

  • Driven and Goal-Oriented: Bring enthusiasm and energy to the role, stay focused on goals, manage scheduling, and ensure progress towards objectives.

  • Proactive Communicator: Exhibit strong client-facing skills with a professional, personable approach. Effectively represent the company, adhere to communication protocols, and contribute significantly to the sales process.

  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively within a small, high-performance team. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including consulting scientists, operations, finance, and software teams, demonstrating strong teamwork and connectivity.
