Senior Product Manager, Competitive Intelligence

Stealth Communications is seeking Senior Product Managers for Competitive Intelligence to join our product strategy team, supporting telecommunications and critical infrastructure sectors we operate in. This role requires a rare fusion of competitive foresight, strategic judgment, and technical familiarity with dark fiber deployments, right-of-way (ROW) logistics, energy production, energy distribution and critical infrastructure defense.
You will analyze national and regional infrastructure plays, evaluate competitor postures across commercial and government sectors and inform our strategic planning as we expand secure, resilient communications systems for U.S. interests.
This position requires security clearance and is based onsite in New York City.
Responsibilities
- Competitive Intelligence: Develop and maintain a comprehensive competitive intelligence framework to monitor competitors' strategies, products, market activities and performance across the sectors we operate within.
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses on competitors' strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to inform our product development and commercial strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sales, engineering, security force and regulatory teams to communicate competitive insights and provide recommendations that influence product strategy and positioning.
- Ensure the execution of competitive strategies in the market through effective cross-functional teamwork.
- Market Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory/policy changes, and technological advancements that could impact the competitive landscape, providing timely updates to relevant stakeholders.Particular emphasis will be placed on evolving strategies across dark fiber networks, conduit development, right-of-way access and city/state level telecom infrastructure programs.
- Actionable Insights: Translate complex data and analysis into actionable insights, enabling proactive strategies to counter competitors' moves and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Reporting: Develop regular reports and presentations on the competitive landscape, offering strategic recommendations to senior management to support informed decision-making.
- Marketing Collateral Development: Lead the creation of innovative and persuasive marketing collateral, including brochures, cut sheets, presentations and digital content, that effectively communicates our product's unique value propositions and competitive advantages.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the go-to expert on competitive intelligence within the organization, facilitating knowledge sharing and strategic discussions among stakeholders.
- Engage with customers and Key Opinion Leaders to gain insights that drive competitive strategies.
- Infrastructure Intelligence: Monitor and map competitor buildouts and capital deployments in fiber-optic backbones, long-haul and metro dark fiber networks, and conduit/RoW strategies across major US metro areas.
- Energy Infrastructure: Track and assess competitor investments, buildouts and operational expansions across energy production and distribution systems, including substations, transmission corridors, microgrid initiatives, and utility-scale infrastructure within key US markets.
- Interface with Stealth legal, engineering and permitting teams to track competitive patterns in underground and aerial infrastructure initiatives, including conventional trenching, microtrenching, HDD and pole attachment efforts.
- Capable of independent work and collaboration within a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including scientists, engineers, business professionals and ex-military personnel
Qualifications
- Must possess an active, transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government-issued security clearance before applying and starting position.
- Master’s degree in Business/ MBA,National Security Telecom/Infrastructure, or a related field.
- 13+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis: particularly with experience in the DoD and Intelligence Community (IC).
- Proven track record of successfully identifying competitive threats and opportunities, with the ability to influence product strategy and outcomes.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience in handling complex datasets and generating actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to various audiences.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in applicable sectors.
- Domain expertise in critical infrastructure, metro and long-haul telecom deployments, dark fiber planning, and RoW negotiation processes is a must.
- Understanding of the intersections between municipal permitting, franchise agreements, and competitive telecom operations is a strong plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally to drive alignment and focus.
- Knowledge of and experience within the DoD and IC community is required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams towards common goals.
- Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive competitive intelligence strategies in highly regulated environments.
Annual Salary: $400,000 + Sign-On Bonus: $400,000 + Relocation assistance via Stealth Real Estate Operations
