Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

At Stripe we serve millions of companies around the world, including velocity businesses, startups, and enterprises that we serve directly with our financial infrastructure platform; as well as millions of end user businesses we serve through our large and diverse platform partnerships. As a user-first company, we believe strongly in building to meet the needs of our users and servicing them in the most personalized and effective ways possible. To better serve our users, we are building a new team that includes our Stripe for Startups Program, as well as a new Community function that we will build. The Stripe for Startup program team’s mission is to create and deliver content and experiences tailored to the startup audience that support founders in pitching, launching, and running a successful startup. Our new Community function will help our users build trusted relationships with each other and with Stripe, to help each other get the most out of Stripe and our solutions, and to provide Stripe with valuable feedback that we’ll use to improve how we build for and service our customers. Together, these two teams will help critical communities of Stripe users build their business, grow their revenue, become more profitable, and get the most out of Stripe.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for an experienced, results-oriented marketing and business leader with a deep understanding of startups, as well as a passion for building community, to oversee two critical initiatives at Stripe. The first initiative is our Stripe for Startups Program, which helps high-potential funded startups get started accepting payments and moving and managing money with Stripe’s solutions. We are in the process of building out and launching this program globally, and are looking for a strong leader who has a passion for startups to oversee this initiative and partner cross-functionally with GTM, Product, and other teams to build out this program and help Stripe’s startup community grow and be successful.

The second initiative is a build motion – to create and build Stripe’s new Community function in the Marketing organization. Our users are such an important part of who we are as a company. We are looking to take that to another level by creating a community where customers can build trusted relationships with each other, get expert recommendations for services and products, give valuable insights to the company, and get their own burning questions answered. This leader will lead the development of this community effort, including starting and then growing and engaging the community; developing community programs; measuring the success of the community; and more.

We're looking for a natural builder, doer, and leader for this role who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up to join us on these two complementary journeys. As a key member of the Stripe global marketing team, this is a great opportunity to build and have an impact on the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally across Marketing, Growth, Product, and Sales to ensure the successful global rollout of the new public Stripe for Startup program, including value proposition, benefits, and messaging.
  • Oversee the Stripe for Startups program as a 'product,' including features, benefits, positioning, differentiation, value prop, etc.
  • Manage the Stripe for Startups team in developing and executing the marketing plan to launch and scale the Stripe for Startups program in the US and regionally, with a goal to build awareness and adoption of the program by funded startups with high potential.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership and Finance to build a measurement framework for the Stripe for Startups Program. Report on ROI and other key performance indicators for the program, and use key insights to evolve the strategy and activities.
  • Build and execute a plan with partnership teams to expand the reach of the Stripe for Startup program through VC, Accelerator, and Incubator partnerships. Ensure success of the program in key startup hub cities across Stripe’s key markets.
  • Partner with field marketing leadership to build a strategy and plan round the world to deliver local community events for founders and define opportunities to engage founders with tailored experiences at Stripe-led and third-party events.
  • Build and execute the community strategy, roadmap, and success metrics.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the content marketing, product, GTM, and other teams to develop a community content strategy. Manage and execute that strategy.
  • Moderate, listen and engage regularly with Stripe community members, providing them with any support and resources they need.
  • Build a continuous feedback mechanism and monitor feedback from the community; bring those insights to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Develop and execute a community ambassadors program, with a focus on building representative communities around specific verticals (industries, interest groups, and so on).
  • Facilitate an inviting, helpful, and honest community culture that represents the best of Stripe
  • Partner with regional teams to plan and run community events throughout the year.
  • Build community-event-in-a-box programs, and enable community ambassadors to host their own events.

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $196,300 - $294,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
