The Poo-sition Overview
As a TUSHY Mechanical Engineer Co-op, you will contribute to the design and development of innovative products, focusing on mechanical components, product testing, and manufacturing processes within our consumables and hardware lines.
This co-op role is an opportunity to apply engineering principles to real-world product challenges. You will support the Product Development team by assisting with research, CAD modeling, prototyping, and working with external partners like manufacturers and suppliers to ensure products meet our high standards of quality, innovation, and our company mission. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience and make an impact on TUSHY’s growing product categories, delivering delightful and well-engineered solutions into bathrooms everywhere!
This incredible Co-op position offers a hybrid work model, with the expectation of at least 3 days a week in our vibrant Dumbo, Brooklyn (NY) office. The position runs from June 1st to August 21st but we’re happy to adjust those dates to accommodate any candidate's schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development Support: Support the Product Development team by assisting with research, CAD modeling, brainstorming, and prototyping.
- Testing & Validation: Help design, test, and validate products ensuring they meet TUSHY’s high standards of quality and innovation.
- Manufacturing Collaboration: Work with external partners like manufacturers and suppliers to ensure products meet TUSHY’s mission and quality standards.
- Technical Documentation: Assist with creating detailed product briefs, technical requirements, and documentation for stability testing and product launches.
- Project Management: Assist with cross-functional project management, supporting the creation of detailed timelines and tracking milestones to identify potential technical risks.
- Data-Driven Improvements: You will analyze product performance data and consumer feedback to support recommendations for product improvements, packaging refinements, and potential innovation opportunities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with CAD modeling and a strong understanding of product design principles.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with a focus on fast iteration, testing, and product launches.
- A strong passion for innovation and creating great products.
- Strong ability to make poop puns at all the right times in all the right places.
