About The RoleAs the Senior Research & Insights Manager, Earner, you will lead qualitative research to advise Uber’s product development and policy and marketing strategy as it relates to drivers and couriers. Your primary responsibilities will include crafting a research agenda to understand key facets of the Earner experience and synthesizing your findings to provide strategic guidance to cross-functional teams.You will be essential in shaping a key focus area for Uber while working closely with senior Earner leads across Operations, Policy, Product, Data Science, and Marketing. As part of a research and science organization reporting into the Chief Economist, your roadmap will include collaboration on research questions with data scientists, economists, and market researchers. What You'll Do
  • Lead global research on our drivers and couriers, while leading a team.
  • Represent the voice of Earners in product, marketing, and policy planning.
  • Independently design research objectives to inform Uber’s approach to pricing, incentives, matching, onboarding, deactivation, and education for Earners.
  • Balance quick-turn survey research and data science with focus groups, message testing, and novel approaches of your own design.
  • Apply mixed methods to understand facets of the Earner experience that can’t be observed in data (such as earnings perception, comprehension and planning; barriers to joining the platform or reasons to leave)
  • Use insights to influence product roadmaps and strategy.
  • Synthesize themes from the research you conduct into actionable recommendations for executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Proactively identify hot topics that are in need of research
Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience working cross-functionally as a strategic thought partner to multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to synthesize and distill information from multiple sources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of quantitative and qualitative market research or UX research methodologies and analysis; or, economic research experience.
  • Expertise in ridesharing or marketplace gig economy platforms, specifically around the complexities of balancing two- or three-sided marketplaces, attracting and retaining gig workers to the platform, and influencing product development with the Earner experience in mind.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
