IT
USD 146k-180k / year + Equity
About The Role
As a Strategy & Planning Analyst on the Uber Eats Global Consumer Strategy team, you will be a critical contributor to UE’s global consumer strategies—from development to approval to execution. This role is designed for a high-performing professional with a foundation of analytic excellence, planning & organization who is ready to accelerate their career by mastering strategic problem-solving, executive-level communication, and stakeholder management.
You won't just gather and slice data; you will own the narrative, translate complex metrics into actionable business strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional leadership to drive growth, retention, and consumer lifetime value. If you are eager to transition from 'what the data says' to 'what we should do about it' and make it happen, this role is your launchpad.
What You Will Do
Strategic Problem Solving & Decision Guidance: Deconstruct complex, ambiguous business problems regarding consumer behavior, competitive threats, and market trends into structured, manageable hypotheses. Build supporting data to inform decision-making processes.
Data-Driven Insight Generation: Query large-scale datasets to identify friction points in the consumer journey, evaluate the performance of global initiatives, and uncover new growth levers. Identify the right data and insights to support or evolve hypotheses. Drive data into a cohesive story that translates insight to action.
Analytics Infrastructure & Dashboards: Build and maintain actionable Looker/Tableau dashboards and reusable SQL workflows that give global and regional teams a real-time, dynamic view of consumer health performance and core operational KPIs.
Model scenarios and trade-offs: Develop flexible models to inform annual planning, incentives, and product-investment allocations; run sensitivity analyses to quantify risks and upside.
Experimentation & Impact Measurement: Help design rigorous evaluation frameworks, A/B testing approaches, or quasi-experimental holdout methodologies to isolate and measure the true incremental impact of global consumer initiatives and promotion investments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Global S&P, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Regional teams to align global macro consumer strategy with hyper-local execution and city-tier realities.
Executive Communication: Synthesize complex technical data, marketplace dynamics, and strategic frameworks into compelling presentations, memos, dashboards, and structured business summaries for senior executive leadership reviews.
Program Ownership: Drive small-to-medium strategic workstreams and consumer pilots from conception to execution, ensuring key milestones are met and downstream commercial impact is rigorously measured.
Basic Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, data analytics, or a highly analytical role within a fast-growing tech or e-commerce marketplace company.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
Technical Skills: Robust expertise in SQL and strong Python or R skills for data wrangling, cleaning, querying, statistical analysis, and visualisation. Experience building dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or equivalent BI tools.
Structured Thinking & Delivery: Demonstrated ability to translate open-ended, ambiguous business questions into clear analytic approaches and present complex findings to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Marketplace & Consumer Acumen: A keen understanding of core tech-platform economics, consumer lifecycle dynamics, and critical retention metrics (e.g., CAC, LTV, churn leading indicators, basket sizing, and cohort analytics).
Advanced Analytics & Automation: Experience with orchestration/ETL tools (e.g., Airflow, DBT) is a plus.
Causal Inference: Working knowledge of experimentation principles, A/B testing methodologies, or quasi-experimental designs (e.g., diff-in-diff).
Framework Application: Ability to apply structural problem-solving frameworks (e.g., MECE, issue trees) to segment unstructured operational challenges.
Stakeholder Navigation: Strong interpersonal and storytelling capabilities with proven success building consensus and navigating highly matrixed, global organizations
