About the position:
The PHP Developer reports to our Director of Engineering and is responsible for leveraging Ubersmith’s existing frameworks and codebase to build new features and provide maintenance for the system. Some projects will assist with internal reporting and others will be for customers as part of our Professional Services offerings. A background in building software solutions as well as excellent communication skills will be required.
Ubersmith is a remote first global team primarily based in the western hemisphere. This position is remote and open to candidates who can legally work in Canada. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and asynchronously from the rest of the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ years of programming experience with PHP, including object-oriented experience
- Proficiency in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack
- Proficiency in AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with SOAP-based and RESTful API development and integration
- Familiarity with using webhooks, and other extensibility frameworks to connect different software products
- Proficiency in SQL or SQLite queries
- Proficient written and spoken English language skills
Nice to haves:
- Experience with Ubersmith, either as an end user, administrator, sysadmin, or developer
- Familiarity with Redash or similar BI/data visualization tools
- Experience with APIs to products we use every day such as: ClickUp, Slack, Zapier
- Basic Linux admin experience
- Experience using Docker a bonus
