Position Title: General Manager, Construction Vertical

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our newly formed Construction vertical. The General Manager will be responsible for driving the growth, strategy, and operational excellence of Quickbase’s offerings within the construction sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of common construction technology, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record in leadership and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

· Develop and execute the overall strategy for Quickbase’s Construction vertical to drive market growth and achieve our objective of growing revenue faster than 30%.

· Identify and evaluate market opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape specific to construction technology to inform strategic decisions.

· Guide a team of 12-14 account executives, 2 sales managers (your direct reports), and a matrixed team of SDR’s, Customer Success, services, and marketing support (roughly 10-12 people).

· Recommend opportunities for investment or expansion of the vertical motion based on customer expectations and demands.

· Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the needs of the team are being met and prioritized.

2. Business Development:

· Drive the construction-focused sales team toward achievement of their goals vs. Sales plan with a new business and upsell quota of roughly $11m.

· Establish and ensure KPI standards are being met consistently by monitoring input and output details. This includes the number of conversations, pipeline build & coverage, win rate, attainment, etc.

· Build relationships with key stakeholders in the construction technology industry, including clients, industry associations, and technology partners. Grow this ecosystem in short order to support the sales effort.

· Identify critical partnership opportunities with tech alliance targets, systems integrators, and others in the partner ecosystem who are critical to our customer’s success.

3. Team Leadership:

· Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team with a keen eye for detail.

· Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. The standard of performance should be high.

4. Product and Service Development:

· Work closely with the product team to ensure Quickbase’s solutions are meeting the specific needs of our construction customers.

· Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform potential product enhancements and new features.

5. Customer Focus:

· Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by overseeing the delivery of exceptional service and support.

· Lead a team that addresses and resolves customer issues promptly and effectively.


· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 10 years of sales or go-to-market leadership experience in the construction technology sector, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

· Proven experience in sales, business development, strategic planning, and operational management within the construction space.

· Strong understanding of construction technology trends, challenges, and solutions.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

· Proficiency with construction management software and familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms is a plus.
