Job Description

The User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Analyst ensures that software solutions meet business requirements and user expectations by thoroughly testing and documenting results. This role involves working closely with stakeholders across the Product, Engineering, and QA teams to validate system functionality and usability before release. The UAT Analyst will develop and execute test plans, track defects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing lifecycle.

Location: This position is open to remote candidates eligible to work in the United States. A hybrid work schedule is available for candidates based near Concord, MA.

Travel Expectations: Candidates outside Concord, MA must complete initial onboarding and training at the Concord office, followed by quarterly in-office visits.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning and Execution

    • Develop detailed and structured test plans based on business requirements and expected product functionality.

    • Conduct manual testing to validate that product features and projects meet defined acceptance criteria before release.

    • Document testing findings, create follow-up tickets, and reconcile test cases to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  2. Defect Management

    • Log, track, and monitor bugs and defects using Jira.

    • Assist the Tier 2 Support Team by providing insights into expected functionality, reviewing requests, and helping with bug ticket creation to ensure alignment with known issues and testing results.

    • Perform usability testing, document test results, and identify issues or inconsistencies.

    • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to evaluate test results, prioritize defect resolutions, and coordinate re-testing.

  3. User Experience Validation

    • Assess the usability of new and refined product functionalities.

    • Investigate and document user workflows to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

    • Participate in retrospective discussions to identify areas for testing improvement.

  4. Collaboration and Communication

    • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to align on software requirements and testing criteria.

    • Provide clear and concise feedback on test outcomes, ensuring stakeholders have visibility into UAT findings.

    • Report on continuous improvement initiatives related to UAT processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  5. Additional Responsibilities

    • Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in UAT methodologies.

    • Assist in developing and refining UAT documentation and guidelines.

    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Quality Assurance (QA), or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Jira, Aha, and other project management tools.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project scope and priorities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • A customer-focused attitude and the ability to build rapport across teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience working with Tripleseat’s software or similar products.

  • Familiarity with test automation tools (preferred but not required).

  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry and its operational workflows.
