About the Role

The Staff Diversity & Inclusion Intern is an integral part of Latham’s Attorney Development Global Diversity Human Capital & Talent team.

The Diversity & Inclusion Intern works with Latham’s diversity and inclusion teams, including the Professional Staff Diversity & Inclusion team and the Attorney Diversity & Inclusion team, to support various projects related to the firm’s internal diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) efforts. This role will be located in our Washington D.C. or Houston offices. Please note that this role requires an in-office presence. This is a Summer Internship with a duration of 8 weeks, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Support DEI programming and initiatives, including assisting with logistics and research for guest speakers, drafting invites and announcements, coordinating with any external vendors, tracking attendance, and collecting feedback from participants
  • Assist with internal and external communications for DEI initiatives, including newsletters and general communications
  • Conduct research and share findings in areas such as DEI surveys and award submissions, industry trends, and specific DEI topics
  • Attend webinars, conferences, and meetings
  • Assist with logistics and preparation of materials for DEI presentations and meetings, including coordinating travel, conference services, and technology needs
  • Network and learn from various firm departments and committees to implement DEI initiatives, including Attorney Development, Billing, Brand & Communications, Business Development, Career Navigator, Health & Well-Being, Global Business Operations, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Office of the General Counsel, Talent Management, Technology, Well-Being & Benefits, and Workplace Experience
  • Assist with special projects and support general administrative responsibilities

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and general research experience
  • Display strong communication skills, both written and verbal

And have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
