About the role

We are looking for a Design Director to oversee the visual and design strategy while also leading our design team. This role is pivotal in shaping our brand’s identity and perception across various channels and touchpoints including CRM, packaging and print, with a focus on digital marketing. Reporting to the Creative Director, this role will be responsible for guiding and mentoring the design team to deliver exceptional, high-performing creative that meets business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the design team to operate at a high strategic and creative level. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability while supporting individual growth and development.

  • Developing a design system: Create and maintain a comprehensive style guide to define and manage the evolution of our design strategy as we evolve the brand.

  • Quality control: Oversee, review, and approve all design output to maintain the highest standards of quality, and brand consistency.

  • Concept and Design: Work hands on to concept campaigns and projects, build art direction and work directly with our studio team to create assets, while also maintaining design workload for final marketing deliverables.

  • Stakeholder communication: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop and present design concepts and the rationale behind design decisions.

  • Process oversight and direction: Oversee and optimize the briefing, request, and review process for design needs to ensure clear communication, effective prioritization, and on-time delivery of assets across multiple stakeholders and channels while also integrating design trends and tools to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

The experience you have​

  • 8+ years of experience, with at least 3-5 years managing a design team.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a sophisticated visual aesthetic and diverse range of design work with experience in marketing 360, print and packaging.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing people and growing creative talent.
  • Expertise in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketchup, and other

    relevant tools.

  • A deep understanding of user-centered design principles and experience creating engaging consumer experiences.

  • Strong understanding of print, digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media best practices as they relate to design and brand identity.

    • You have a passion for food, culinary innovation, and delivering best-in-class customer experiences.

    Base Salary: $210,000-$220,500 per year.

    Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.

    Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.
