About The Opportunity
Wonder seeks an experienced Vice President, Safety & Compliance leader to lead our compliance and risk management functions and oversee workplace safety. This role reports to the Chief Governance Officer and works closely with the General Counsel as part of the Governance team, as well as working directly with the operational senior leadership team of Wonder NA to manage all Wonder locations and Wonder distribution hubs.
The successful candidate must have deep expertise in food safety and compliance as their primary discipline, with either the ability or the experience of managing all other areas of safety and compliance, including workplace, employment, and corporate sectors.
As Wonder scales with plans to go public in a few years, this leader will create company-wide programs for compliance, safety, and ethics spanning Wonder’s food technology platform, that includes hundreds of restaurant locations, regional production facilities and distribution centers, and multiple business divisions.

Leadership & Culture
Lead a fast-growing company’s safety and compliance team by building a culture with proactive communication, training, and policy enforcement.
Advise senior leadership on safety, compliance risks and scaling strategies.
Serve as the point of contact for regulators, auditors, and external compliance partners.
Provide regular reporting updates to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.

Food Safety Leadership
Serve as the senior authority for Wonder’s company-wide food safety and compliance programs at scale.
Oversee food safety policies, reporting, and controls across regional production facilities, distribution centers, and retail locations.
Drive the proper KPIs and reporting for food safety across growing operations to ensure Wonder is viewed as an emerging leader in food safety.
Develop and manage compliance technology systems for incident tracking and auditing to enable rapid scaling.

Workplace Safety & Employee Compliance
Oversee the Workplace Safety team and ensure best practices in employee safety across the retail footprint and production facilities.
Support monitoring of OSHA and other regulatory safety standards.
Ensure employment compliance broadly (pay standards, work practices) with state and local laws applicable to Wonder’s growing workforce.
Seek to maintain and scale best practices in all workplace safety and employee compliance matters, including training, use of technology, and tracking of metrics.

Risk Management & Business Continuity
Oversee the team responsible for the management of a comprehensive business continuity program to ensure business resilience during rapid expansion.
Conduct company-wide risk assessments, scenario planning, and readiness drills.
At scale, opportunity to partner with Legal, IT and Security to manage information security compliance and data privacy internal controls.
This role will scale in scope as the Wonder business scales to accommodate the growing business.
What You Bring to the Table
15+ years in food safety, compliance, risk management, and/or regulatory affairs.
Senior Food Safety Background: Must come from a food safety background, with the ability or experience to manage workplace safety and operational compliance.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling compliance programs in fast-growth, multi-site, or consumer-facing companies.
Expertise in workplace safety (OSHA) and/or corporate compliance (SOX, SEC) preferred.
Proven track record and/or ability to establish and effect Board and committee-level reporting.

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.

New York: $290,000 per year.
