Yahoo Finance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President (VP) of Business Development to drive strategic partnerships and content partnerships for our leading finance and business news platform. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in driving revenue growth, increasing distribution, creating partnerships, and building strong relationships within the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue, profitability and user growth for Yahoo Finance

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new strategic partnerships and content partnerships to enhance the platform's product offerings and revenue streams

  • Ideate and negotiate deals that grow both existing and new lines of business / revenue streams

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product, engineering, editorial, marketing, and business operations to execute on business development initiatives

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and customers

  • Represent Yahoo Finance at industry events and conferences to promote the brand and build relationships with potential partners and customers

  • Work closely with other members of the executive team to align business development initiatives with the platform's overall goals and objectives

  • Develop and manage a high-performing business development team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, MBA a plus

  • 10+ years of experience in business development in a large media company, preferably within the finance and business news industry

  • Proven track record of successfully driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, content partnerships, and business development initiatives

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and identify new opportunities for growth

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Prior experience in startups preferred.

  • Investment banking or corporate development experience a plus

  • Comfort with ambiguous and dynamic environments preferred

  • Hybrid model, with ability to commute regularly (2-4 days depending on the week and client/partner meetings) to a hub office either in Mountain View, CA or Manhattan, NY

The compensation for this position ranges from $218,750.00 - $406,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
