Sr. Director of Product for Next Gen Search, Yahoo Search

Yahoo Search is seeking an innovative, strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Product to lead the evolution of our search products. As we implement new technologies to evolve search; this leader will influence the product strategy, development and delivery for our consumer products and experiences. We are looking for folks that are looking to push beyond the status quo to change the way folks interact and use search.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing a clear product vision for next generation Yahoo Search products and ensuring that vision is translated into roadmaps that communicate strategic priorities through specific initiatives that have tangible, measurable outcomes

  • Maintain strong working relationships with key business & technology stakeholders at every level of the organization

  • Collaborate closely with other product leaders; especially to drive and define a vibrant product culture

  • Take a customer-focused and evidence-based approach to defining, executing, and delivering a product roadmap and product strategy

  • Be accountable for driving key business metrics including user engagement & growth

  • Assist in guiding significant technical investment and architectural decisions, to support long-term product initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Product experience in launching consumer experiences, preferably in AI or search experiences that combine editorial and technology inputs.

  • Track record of driving consumer internet product growth through product creation or improvement (growth tactics + substantial increase in core product value)

  • Experience defining a product strategy, with deep understanding of how investments will ladder up to that strategy through initiatives and roadmaps

  • Prioritize ruthlessly, using data and tapping into the experience of a broader team, to optimize velocity.

  • Demonstrated user empathy

  • Keep your word on commitments

  • End-to-end ownership mindset

  • Passionate about redefining the search space

The compensation for this position ranges from $172,645.00 - $375,285.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about. Most roles don’t require specific regular patterns of in-person office attendance.
