About

Yahoo Mail team is looking for a Technical Program Manager — passion for technology, product, and design—to tackle the biggest challenges we can find. As TPM, you will inspire, guide, and focus teams using exceptional listening skills, crisp and effective communication, and a detailed understanding of the work required to build and launch great products.

You will partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and data analysts in a highly collaborative organization while working across business units and functions to drive transparency and execution. You will work to provide operations support, operational rigor, and real-time execution

You will complement these skills with the technical knowledge that makes you a credible leader and informs your judgment of timelines, scope, quality, priorities, and tradeoffs. You must be comfortable influencing and interfacing with various stakeholders at all levels and across functions.

Potential candidates should have the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, be able to think strategically, execute methodically, and have a willingness to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead innovative consumer programs from concept to completion and deliver on-time, high-quality products, and features.

  • Remove impediments for teams and product managers.

  • Work across teams to improve efficiency and execution, including organizing retrospectives.

  • Leverage data to improve processes and develop product insights.

  • Motivate teams by focusing on results while setting and tracking goals.

  • Manage multiple stakeholders, align on common goals and communicate risks.

  • Facilitate effective meetings and build trusting relationships across functions.

  • Build reports and dashboards outlining product performance and team efficiency.

  • Support product teams through all stages of the product life cycle.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional PMO teams.

  • Facilitate prioritization processes to ensure the team delivers against our OKRs.

  • Monitor daily product operations and address potential issues when they arise.

  • Build processes that meet our business objectives and ensure compliance.

  • Support product team to help drive quarterly, annual and long-term planning.

  • Provide constant and clear communication of objectives, status, tactics and results to all relevant stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Technical Program Management.

  • An ownership mentality – see tasks through to completion. Go the extra step to proactively

  • Experience working on large-scale mobile- or web-based consumer products seeks out answers to problems that may fall outside his/her area of expertise.

  • Excellent problem solver, using proven methods to solve difficult issues effectively.

  • Strong analytical background with a bias toward using data to drive business decisions.

  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.

  • High level of professionalism; ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work streams without sacrificing quality.

  • Well organized, able to prioritize well, and work efficiently.

  • Show flexibility as workloads fluctuate.

  • Experience developing departmental planning materials that required consensus gathering from multiple constituents.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean organization amidst a shifting competitive landscape.

  • Ability to manage high job complexity and constant multi-tasking.

  • Demonstrated track record as a trusted business partner in an organization, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and work effectively with teams at all levels including senior leadership.

  • Eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve/simplify processes

  • Familiarity with Jira, generating reports, custom dashboards

  • Undergraduate degree required

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
