Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the subscription business for Yahoo Finance by leveraging market insights to create premium offerings that deliver on Yahoo Finance’s brand promise

  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities by analyzing data, subscriber feedback, and market trends to inform decision-making and optimize performance

  • Guide customer acquisition and lifecycle management via pricing, positioning, and plan configurations, then lead acquisition, retention, upsell, and win-back campaigns

  • Collaborate with Product teams to develop premium first-party subscription features, and Business Development for third-party deals to bring new features to market

  • Monitor metrics and analyze customer acquisition, upsell, and retention trends in order to make recommendations and adjust strategic plans accordingly; ideate, define and execute initiatives centered around increased user engagement and retention

  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure maximum return on investment, considering both customer acquisition cost and lifetime value

  • Complete cost and benefit analyses for potential deals and revenue streams, and report on subscriptions business to executives while working closely with leadership to ensure that subscription efforts align with business, product, and brand strategies

A Lot About You:

You will have the opportunity to lead and grow the subscription business, and the recurring revenue it generates, for Yahoo Finance. You have a ‘trifecta’ of proven experience as a growth marketer, product marketer, and product manager for a freemium SaaS offerings. You will be an integral hands-on leader expanding our premium subscription offering which is core to Yahoo Finance’s overall business strategy. If you’re a marketing leader who likes to be in the engine room running a business and driving subscriber growth, and if you are passionate about enabling everyday investors can achieve financial prosperity through confident decision-making, this role is for you!

  • Growth Marketing: Proven ability to effectively partner and drive marketing activities, ideally within a fast-growing freemium-SaaS consumer business

  • Testing & Optimization: A successful track record in utilizing test-and-learn to determine new channels for digital acquisition

  • Monetization: Experience with multiple monetization models at scale including B2C, advertising/sponsorship, and B2B2C

  • Analytical Ability: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: able to break down open-ended problems and move forward in the face of ambiguity

  • Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with product, design, engineering, marketing, and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Experience executing projects and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive high-quality results, strong executive communication, and organization skills

  • Product Marketing: Background in creating consumer-facing products. Strong product sense with an ability to articulate pragmatic solutions that address user needs

  • Technical Understanding: Past product development experience to know what it takes to build websites and cloud-based software applications

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Passion for consumer technology and retail financial services, particularly for market data and personal investing

  • MBA strongly preferred with 10+ years experience in driving subscriptions, preferably freemium SaaS, fintech, or SaaS offerings for solo-prenuers and SMBs with fewer than 10 employees. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

The compensation for this position ranges from $140,890.00 - $306,705.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
