Yahoo Search is seeking a Principal Product Lead, Search Monetization to define and execute product strategies for one of the most popular technology and media companies in the world.

A lot about you:

As a Principal Product Lead within the search team, you will help develop our search and commerce monetization strategy, roadmap and lead its execution. The ideal candidate will leverage strong organizational skills and deep subject matter expertise to partner with external partners as well as internal cross-functional teams including consumer search, science, engineering, design, finance and others.

You will define, prioritize and deliver the Search Monetization product roadmap, leading both new product development of the next generation of online advertising products in Y! Search and the continual optimization of existing experiences to ensure the optimal balance between user satisfaction, advertiser ROI and revenue yield is met.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the monetization vision, strategy, roadmap and products across Search with focus on achieving business goals & user relevance.

  • Pitch, develop, launch, measure and scale innovative, new monetization features and products that help achieve defined product and company goals.

  • Work closely with Sciences, Analytics, Consumer and B2B teams to analyze needs and identify/prioritize problems, opportunities, and to optimize both revenue and ad-relevance

  • Daily/weekly “Short interval controllership” of Search’s monetization product portfolio. Inform and update executives and stakeholders on product performance against expectations, leading root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Build strong relationships across analytics, design, engineering, partner management and marketing teams and lead them to launch new products/features for testing/iteration.

  • Define the A|B testing plans and create the methodology to iterate fast and release new features for testing and, if successful, rollout to all users globally.

  • Execute agile processes with cross-functional teams ike sprint plans, backlog management, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and sprint retrospective

  • Inform, and drive consensus for appropriate engagement and revenue tradeoffs.

You have/are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in highly-quantitative fields (economics, management science, business, applied math, statistics, finance, analytics or related field) or equivalent professional work experience

  • 5+ years of strong product management experience.

  • 3+ years of proven track record in developing monetization strategies and digital advertising products including display, commerce, paid search, native, social. Experience within an advertising business (Google, Facebook, twitter, etc.), agencies, or ad tech. Fluency in Paid Search advertising strongly preferred.

  • Strong product sense - ability to understand consumer needs and figure simple ways to solve the needs through both qualitative and quantitative insights.

  • Demonstrated use of financial modeling, analytics, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions.

  • Demonstrated experience in BE advertising platform development, ML model optimization and user interface optimization.

  • Self-motivated, independent, results-driven, and team-oriented leader; with excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative, and communications skills; able to drive cross functional agreement and collaboration.

Nice to Haves:

  • 3+ years of pricing, operations, or consulting within the advertising industry or similar experience with a management or strategy consulting firm.

  • Experience with B2B partner relationship management.

  • Comfort with data driven decision making including data extraction through SQL and statistical modeling.

The compensation for this position ranges from $136,125.00 - $283,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
