A Little About Us
The Privacy Platforms team is responsible for Yahoo's Privacy management system, providing a critical role in ensuring compliance with various privacy regulations across different geographies. The team develops platforms and services for customers and partners to manage their privacy choices through online access and web service APIs.
As a skilled, passionate and experienced software architect you will lead the development of privacy solutions for our company. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify technical solutions, and guide the development process from concept to deployment. This is a terrific opportunity to contribute and lead projects in the Privacy Platforms team.
Design and develop privacy solutions to protect sensitive data which aligns with compliance regulations along with business needs and priorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and create technical solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Identify technical risks and mitigate potential security risks and vulnerabilities in the development process.
Lead and mentor junior engineers throughout design and development.
Focus on teamwork, offer learning opportunities and address technical challenges that the team might encounter.
Drive operational excellence by ensuring best practices followed across our products.
Decision making with metrics driven approach.
Lead and participate in establishing architectural standards and best practices.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Proficiency in Java programming language.
Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and secure coding standards.
Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements, such as GDPR & CCPA.
Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or GCP.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
