Yahoo serves as a trusted guide for hundreds of millions of people globally, helping them achieve their goals online through our portfolio of iconic products. For advertisers, Yahoo Advertising offers omnichannel solutions and powerful data to engage with our brands and deliver results.

A Little About Us

The User Experience Research & Consumer Insights (UXR-CI) team, part of Yahoo’s Analytics, Research and Data (YARD) organization, is the core consumer and user-focused research function and is made up of subject matter experts who leverage quantitative and qualitative methods to understand consumer and user needs, wants and motivations. We provide actionable insights and recommendations that inform consumer-first strategies and product decisions for Marketing, Design and Product teams.

A Lot About You

You are an experienced and curious researcher who looks for the “why” behind the data. You are a critical thinker who is both strategic and creative. You are deeply familiar with advertising and marketing and understand the importance and power of a brand versus a product.

With experience in both primary research and vendor-led research, quantitative and qualitative research, you can confidently recommend and execute the research that will best answer our business partners’ questions. You don’t view research as transactional and work hard to build strong relationships with internal clients and cross-functional team members. Your business partners see you as a trusted advisor who helps keep the consumer top of mind in their decision making.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will work closely with the Sr. Manager of Marketing and Brand Research on key research initiatives; including brand tracking, message and ad testing, brand positioning research, and other ad-hoc research to support business partner needs

  • You will plan, execute, and manage end-to-end research projects and engage with external research vendors on a semi-regular basis

  • You will regularly partner and share knowledge with researchers on the UXR-CI team and the broader Research and Analytics organization

  • You will present research results to audiences with varying levels of research familiarity

What You Bring to the Role

  • BA/BS/MA/MS in related field (e.g. Marketing, Market Research, Social Sciences)

  • 5-10 years market research experience; Marketing and Brand research highly preferred

  • Experience conducting primary research (e.g. survey design, building and interpreting crosstabs, producing custom research reports) and managing vendor-led research studies

  • Ability to lead both quantitative and qualitative research studies

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights in a clear and actionable manner to both researchers and non-researchers

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
