The team’s main objectives are to test hypotheses across all digital platforms, measure results and provide go-forward business recommendations for stakeholders. As part of the team, the Senior Manager BI Lead will manage a team of Data Scientists and analysts who are responsible for developing consumer insights and hypotheses; conducting comprehensive analysis into consumer insights and competitive intelligence to help teams drive product innovation and iteration, measuring A/B test results and providing business recommendations. Additionally, the team serves as the key resource for cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, Business Development and more) on all the above subject areas.
Partner with vertical business leaders on product strategy to drive monetization, product innovation and evolution.
Lead testing and experimentation analyses to drive continuous product and feature improvements and monetization growth.
Provide ad hoc analysis to answer business questions.
Your Day
Manage a team of product analysts and data scientists, who are responsible for ensuring understanding of our users, lead experimentation design and analysis, and deep dive data exploration focused on driving business value.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business challenges through data analysis across AOL properties.
Extract data, use statistical tools and techniques to turn data into insights and use data visualization tools to tell-the-story.
Actively monitor business health metrics and product KPIs for business impact and communicate performance regularly and proactively to GM and its leadership team
Perform deep dive analyses on web/app activity and other data to detect opportunities and insights that drive support and learning strategies.
Examine and measure the impact of audience growth initiatives and partner with the product leads and leadership on developing growth strategies.
Build and effectively communicate data stories to executives and key stakeholders via presentations, written summaries, and data visualizations.
Design and lead time-sensitive strategic research projects involving methodology development, analysis, strategic recommendations and presentation of findings to Senior Management
Provide ad hoc analysis to gain insight into user experiences and behavior and present actionable insights and recommendations.
You Must Have
Bachelor's Degree in math, engineering, statistics, data science, or a related field
7-10 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or similar role in quantitative field
Strong analytical skills and quantitative mindset with a good understanding of statistics.
Experience in leading and managing a high performing team
You have a proven track record of leveraging data to develop and implement strategies to drive audience growth.
You are an effective communicator who presents information to key stakeholders with the appropriate level of storytelling, visuals, data analysis, and rationale to support insights and recommendations.
Proven track record and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis, including working with large data sets and leveraging multiple types of data (e.g. audience traffic data, revenue data, survey results) to provide actionable business insights.
Ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines can sometimes be tight and stakeholder needs immediate.
Ability to think customer first and drive positive experiences for the AOL audience.
Proficiency in digital analytics tools such as Google or Adobe Analytics and visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau and third-party tools (e.g. Comscore, SimilarWeb, Data AI)
Expertise in SQL required. Working knowledge of SQL/Hive for data extraction and manipulation is strongly preferred.
Track record of proactively establishing and following through on commitments.
Demonstrated use of analytics, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills.
Team player in driving growth results combined with a positive attitude and high emotional intelligence.

Experience in ad tech
Experience using project management tools like those from Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence)
Python programming
Experience using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) or AWS
Knowledge of data warehouse and governance principles and methodologies
Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

The compensation for this position ranges from $122,250.00 - $255,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
