The Shared Services Strategic Platforms and Programs team is a new function that is part of the company-wide Strategy team, reporting directly through the CFO of Zillow Group. The mission of our team is to accelerate and enable the Zillow Shared Services functions (including Finance, People, Legal, and Compliance) to better execute on their strategic vision. About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Platform Strategy Lead to join our fast growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to create clear roles and responsibilities, establishing boundaries and aligning teams when it matters most. Collaborating with Product, Tech, People, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Product Operations, you will nurture strong relationships and find opportunities to enhance the health of our Shared Services functions. Your ability to drive accountability for organization-wide priorities will lead to tangible improvements and incredible results.

Key Responsibilities:

Craft your Function and Establish Customer Partnerships:

  • Create clear roles and responsibilities and align cross-functional teams at moments that matter.

  • Establish and communicate who this role partners with and how. For example: Partnering across Product, Tech, People, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Product Operations on strategic platform investments that drive efficiency and scalability

  • Identify opportunities to improve the health of Shared Services functions and drive accountability of organizational priorities.

  • Build strong relationships and influence peers and executive leaders to foster cross-functional collaboration

Develop the Strategy and Identify our Opportunity Landscape:

  • Develop and refine functional goals, objectives, and success criteria in alignment with organizational strategies.

  • Collaborates with functional leaders to scope, launch, and/or implement strategic platform changes and surface new opportunities

  • Define and lead our long-range and annual planning process, including capturing inputs, facilitating team member alignment and aligning with external business partners. Drives the internal process for planning across Shared Services units, inclusive of vision setting and strategic-planning, goal setting, resource and financial planning.

  • Play a visible and important role by driving the annual operating plan. Drives consistency and continuously advocating on behalf of Shared Services

  • Toggle between strategy and execution – i.e., thinking big picture about strategy, then rolling up sleeves to partner with business leaders to roll out platform changes

Create and Maintain the Mechanisms to Scale:

  • Lead and supervise the planning, execution, and delivery of annual planning activities across multiple organizations.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including executives, to drive consensus, ensure alignment, and foster effective communication.

  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies to drive high value outcomes

  • Monitor and report on performance and metrics, and provide regular status updates and reports to partners.

  • Drive operational efficiency by implementing standard methodologies, process improvements, and standardization initiatives.

  • Create and continuously maintains, inspects, updates a risk and opportunity repository for Shared Services; communicates and creates transparency to leadership.

  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their program management skills.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $117,000.00 - $187,000.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

Your Qualifications:

You should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 9-12 years of experience as a senior leader driving critical initiatives end to end with a proven track record of autonomy. Further demonstrating leadership in complex project management and cross-functional execution, technology management, and influencing vertically and horizontally.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • Validated experience as a Principal Program Manager in a strategy and operations role.

  • Strong eye for business and the ability to understand macro and micro market conditions.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into concrete plans.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and delivering large-scale initiatives on time and within budget.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with partners at all levels.

  • Highly organized and thorough, with strong project management abilities.

  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  • Experience with relevant tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Six Sigma), and prior work experience on technical projects working with product teams.
