The Shared Services Strategic Platforms and Programs team is a new function that is part of the company-wide Strategy team, reporting directly through the CFO of Zillow Group. About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic AI Platform leader to join our organization to lead the research and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects. In this role, you will play a key leadership role in driving the adoption of AI technologies and enhancing business operations across our Finance organization and broader Shared Services teams. Working closely with key Shared Services organizations including Finance, People, Legal and Compliance, Product and Technology, you will identify, assess, and recommend AI investments to optimize our business operations, ERP SaaS solutions, and ultimately accelerate our roadmap ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design the AI Strategy for Shared Services:

  • Align with your customers to craft and communicate our key tenets/guiding principles. Create mechanisms to maintain your backlog, roadmaps, and remove obstacles to accelerate the organizational priorities.

  • Able to organize authorities from AI, data scientists, and engineers to create shared goals and specifications for AI products.

  • Lead and direct processes for R&D (research and development) to meet the needs of our AI strategy, in collaboration with Shared Services functions, Product, and Technology.

  • Learn and assess customer challenges and how integrating AI capabilities can help lead to solutions. Create mechanisms to solicit ideas from the organization, create prioritization framework, and communicate roadmap to appropriate partners. Helps prioritize and rank the solutions, develops business-cases, further develops AI product roadmaps and timelines; POC for vendor/procurement management office.

  • Able to research new AI (3rd party) solutions and test prototypes with Shared Services beta groups and Technology teams.

Develop the AI Strategy for Shared Services:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for AI research and implementation in collaboration with partners.

  • Identify and prioritize AI initiatives aligned with business goals and objectives.

  • Drive the evaluation and selection of AI technologies, tools, and platforms that align with business requirements.

  • Monitor industry trends and innovations in AI, benchmarking against industry standard methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to develop AI models and algorithms.

  • Align intimately with product and technology to build necessary processes, prioritization, and core technology decisions.

Execute on the AI Strategy:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in designing, planning, and driving AI projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.

  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to establish governance frameworks and standards for AI research and implementation, including data management, privacy, and ethical considerations.

  • Be able to develop and handle test data sets, user acceptance testing through validation, as well as training and communicating change management activities.

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies to senior management and key collaborators.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth in AI project management.

  • Continuously measure, monitor, and report on output metrics for your program, reporting directly up to senior leadership across Finance, People, Legal, Compliance, and Technology partners.

This role has been categorized as a Hybrid position. “Hybrid” employees regularly work at an existing ZG corporate office for approximately 10 to 80 percent of their time each month, and the rest of the time they may work from a remote physical location of their choice within a reasonable commuting distance from the corporate office which must be identified to the Company in advance. The Recruiter and Hiring Manager will set expectations on the employee’s preferred time in office. ZG has not defined a reasonable distance, and expects employees will use judgment in determining this for themselves and understand the implications re: time commitment and cost of daily commute.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $121,700.00 - $194,300.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

You should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 7+ years of experience as senior leader driving strategic projects, programs, and initiatives, along with shown leadership in sophisticated project management and cross-functional execution, technology management, and influencing vertically and horizontally.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Validated experience as a Program Manager, leading AI research and implementation projects in a Finance or related organization.

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics.

  • Track record of successfully delivering large-scale AI projects, from research and development to operational implementation.

  • Knowledge of finance industry processes, financial systems, and compliance regulations is highly desirable.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and partner management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify business challenges and formulate AI solutions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

  • Project management certification (PMP) or Agile certification is a plus.
