About the role
As we strive to make home a reality for more people, we seek an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our Routing team. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage both back-end services and front-end products. Your work will directly impact Zillow's core business, enhancing how we connect home shoppers and sellers with outstanding real estate agents and facilitating the journey toward finding their dream home. What You'll Do:
Lead the design and development of robust, high-quality backend services and intuitive frontend tools, ensuring scalability, performance, and a seamless user experience.
Manage and coach a diverse team of software engineers, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other multi-functional teams to align development efforts with business goals and user needs.
Drive the adoption of best practices in software development across the full stack, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.
Navigate and address complex technical challenges, continuously pushing the boundaries of our technology to enhance our platform and services.
Who you are
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a solid foundation in software engineering principles.
At least five years of experience in software development, with a strong background in both backend technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js) and frontend development (e.g., React, GraphQL).
A minimum of two years in a leadership role, with shown success in mentoring and developing engineering teams.
Demonstrated ability to architect scalable systems, design RESTful APIs, and develop user-centric frontend applications.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead multi-functional teams and drive projects to successful completion.
