The People Technology team at Zillow is a dynamic and collaborative group of professionals who are dedicated to delivering world-class tools and technology to support Zillow's People Organization and all employees! As part of the broader Enterprise Applications organization, People Tech works closely with teams across HR, Product, and Engineering functions to configure, implement, and maintain software applications that are used by Zillow Group employees in their day-to-day job activities. This team plays a critical role in ensuring that Zillow operates efficiently and effectively, and fosters a culture of inclusion and collaboration.About the role
Join Zillow as the Senior Manager of People Technology and take charge of a team of experienced information systems analysts! Your primary focus will be on driving the seamless execution of initiatives that support the People Org Roadmap. This role requires effectively balancing the expertise and career aspirations of your team members with the organization's objectives. A proven track record of project implementation and the ability to see opportunities for technical enhancement and drive continuous improvement initiatives are key aspects of this position.
As a Senior Manager, People Technology, you will:
Drive execution of initiatives in support of the People Org Roadmap, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget
Cultivate growth opportunities by carefully considering the skills, career aspirations, and business requirements of existing team members, ensuring a well-balanced team
Discover possibilities to reduce technical debt and propel ongoing improvement initiatives, guaranteeing Zillow maintains a best-in-class technology infrastructure
Collaborate regularly in planning and estimating activities, offering mentorship and support to team members using your previous experience and understanding of the business, and actively participate in discussions about capacity and priorities
Establish strong connections with important individuals in the Product and HR departments, serving as a reliable consultant who can provide guidance, anticipate challenges, and find innovative solutions for business issues
Represent Zillow's needs and best interests with third-party vendors, ensuring that they are accountable to expectations, service level agreements (SLAs), and contractual commitments
Constructively negotiate trade-off discussions with other senior leaders, articulating pros and cons while providing options and recommendations that align with Zillow's goals and values
Who you are
Proven experience in People/HR technology stacks, with a strong preference for extensive exposure to the Workday ecosystem
5+ years of people leadership experience, with a consistent track record of getting results through others in an Agile environment
Passionate about career development and multiplying the impact of your team members, providing mentoring and coaching to individual contributors
Ability to seamlessly adapt your communication style to the audience ranging from individual contributors on your team to senior leaders and executives
Strong dedication to operational excellence, constantly aspiring to uncover the underlying causes of problems, using data to guide your decision-making, and encouraging a culture of ongoing improvement within your team
Previous experience handling relationships with external vendors and a shown understanding of commonly accepted approaches in the industry
