ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
The Knot Worldwide is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to drive analytics for the Marketplace Zone. As a senior member of our Data Science & Analytics organization, you’ll provide strategic analytical leadership, guiding both tactical insights and long-term data strategy to maximize marketplace performance. You’ll operate with broad autonomy to define metrics, design scalable reporting, and lead analytical investigations that drive clarity, alignment, and measurable business impact across cross-functional teams focused on the marketplace.
As the primary analytics partner for the Marketplace Zone, you’ll ensure decision-makers have access to trustworthy data, robust KPIs, and actionable insights. You’ll partner closely with product managers, data scientists, engineers, and fellow analysts to deliver data-driven recommendations that inform product strategy and marketplace growth initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Performance Investigation
- Lead deep-dive analyses into performance trends, identifying root causes and key opportunities.
- Serve as the go-to resource for urgent, high-priority business questions that require data-backed answers.
- Deliver recommendations and findings in concise, executive-friendly formats.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Serve as a key analytics partner to teams across Product, Design, and Engineering.
- Translate business questions into structured analyses, and help teams interpret results with appropriate context and caveats.
- Contribute to shared metrics and reporting resources that promote transparency and alignment across teams.
Metrics Definition & Governance
- Develop, document, and maintain clear, consistent metric definitions within a centralized semantic layer (i.e. Cube).
- Partner with business and data stakeholders to align on KPI logic and ensure consistent usage across reports and dashboards.
- Contribute to processes that ensure metrics are version-controlled, certified, and discoverable.
Reporting & Dashboarding
- Build and maintain high-quality dashboards and reports that support product teams and product leadership.
- Ensure reporting outputs reflect the most current and accurate data definitions.
Operational Analytics Excellence
- Help establish and champion best practices for metric design, dashboard development, and data quality validation.
- Collaborate with Data Science and Data Engineering teams to ensure analytics models and data pipelines meet stakeholder needs.
- Stay up to date with changes in source systems and contribute to QA/testing efforts to ensure data accuracy.
SUCCESSFUL LEAD DATA ANALYST CANDIDATES HAVE:
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to operate with minimal direction while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with or within a Product team, including partnering closely with product managers, familiarity working with behavioral event data (e.g. Segment), and defining product usage metrics.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
- Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Preset, Metabase, Mixpanel).
- Experience with metrics layer tools (e.g., dbt, Cube) in a governed reporting environment.
- 5-7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related data role.
WORK MODEL:
This role is Together@TKWW-eligible and based near one of our office hubs. Starting September 15, 2025, you’ll be expected to work in the office two days a week as part of our hybrid work model.
